Al Ula (D1) signed 29-year old American center Imani McGee-Stafford (201cm-1994, college: Texas) for upcoming 2024-25 season. She was best rebounder at Shaanxi in Chinese WCBA last season where in 35 games she had very impressive stats: 17.5ppg, 12.3rpg (#3 in the league), 1.3apg and 1.1spg. 2023-24 was a great season as she was named to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese WCBA Honorable Mention.
The previous (2023) summer she played at Astros de Jalisco (LNBPF) in Mexican league.
In 2016 she was drafted by Chicago Sky (WNBA) in first round (10th overall).
She graduated from University of Texas and it will be her ninth season in pro basketball.
McGee-Stafford represented USA at the World Championships U17 in France fourteen years ago. Her team won Gold and she had almost 4 points per game.
She is quite experienced player. McGee-Stafford has played in seven different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). She has played previously professionally in Australia (Perth Lynx), Israel (Hertzliya), Mexico, Turkey (Adana), WNBA (Dallas Wings and Atlanta Dream) and WUBA (GIE Matrix).
Among many awards her team won WNBA Eastern Conference Regular Season in 2018. McGee-Stafford was also voted All-Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year back in 2016.
